Junior tennis at Ōtūmoetai Tennis Club
is a great place to start!
Our thriving junior programme at Ōtūmoetai has dedicated coaches who help guide and support player development pathways from beginner through to representative level.
The opportunites available are plentiful and cater for our junior players of all abilities. Included in your junior membership is:
Junior Club Nights: Fridays from 3.30pm - 6.15pm (During Terms 1, 2, 3, 4)
Interclub: Represent OTC in the Tennis WBOP Junior Interclub Competition
OTC Junior Club Championships: Participate in our annual club champs
Court Access: Outside organised club days and events.

Do I need to provide my own racket?
For Junior Club Day (Fridays) we have spare rackets for children to borrow for their session. Our pro shop also stocks junior rackets for purchase.
We recommend having your own racket so you can play outside of organised club sessions.
What do I need to wear for tennis?
We recommend clothing that is comfortable to play tennis in. Sneakers must be worn- we do not permit bare feet, sandals, jandals or crocs on court.
How do I know what is the right group for my child?
Talk to the coaching team first. They will be able to guide you on the appropriate level.
Is there other coaching opportunities for children?
Yes!! Our coaching team offers smaller group lessons and 1:1 private lessons. Please check out our coaching page for more details.
Do I have to pay extra for coaching?
Friday Club Nights are part of the junior membership- there is no extra cost for these sessions.
If you are wanting to join squads (group lessons) or private lessons, these are an additional cost above the junior membership fees.
Do junior club sessions run in the school holidays?
No. We do still offer Holiday Programs & Private Lessons in the school holidays.
